- Damn! I got disorientated by the map.

- You can't blame me for that then. ;) Great map though, good use of the water squares. :)

- Yeah it looks good. I'm still wondering if we could do some tweaking to the mission objective though. Any ideas to make it more interesting?

- I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I think you're right. This mission suffers from the same small problem that a few others do, in that there's no specific focal point(s) on the map, so if we get down to a couple of units each, we could spend a lot of turns wandering around trying to find each other. In them situations, unfortunately it's usually the player who *doesn't* wander that wins since they get the opp-fire shot behind a door or something. I'll have a think about it anyway.

- Yeah true. In this case the problem is probably intensified if the Blob side are losing, they could easily separate a couple of weak units and hide them. Increasing the strength/amount of the Blobs, but letting the Humans win if the turns expire might be one way around this. But there must be something more exciting than that... Let's have a think about it.

- Sounds like a good and quick solution, since they can cover a big area quickly. Maybe until we think of something better?

- Yeah I think so. I still can't think of anything better.

- What do you want to increase the blobs to?

- I'm not sure. Maybe we should play out this game to the end before making a decision.

- Looks like you've won, Steve. I don't know if I'm just useless at being Blobs, or if they are stll a bit weak. I don't really enjoy playing as them as much as the humans, or even the Aliens.
I know I created it, but I'm not particularly fond of this mission either. It could do with something to give it a bit more focus. My very symmetrical map is quite disorientating too. What do you think of it all Steve? Posted by

- I think it just needs more focus, and maybe the blobs need more "units". How about adding about 4 computers in various rooms, and the blobs have to defend them? That would make it more interesting as the blobs would have to find the humans before they got to the computers.
Maybe the map could do with more variety as well. As it is, there's no reason to choose a specific route for a specific tactic cos the layout is the same whichever way a player goes. Posted by

- What about switching the sides around so that the Humans are defending the base against the Blobs? So the Blobs have to come in from the airlocks instead of the humans. We could create a new back-story that the Blobs are trying to flood the base (destroying a computer(s)) to kill the humans.
But yeah I agree the map needs some altering and the Blobs probably need more "units". Posted by

- Do you think that might limit the tactics that could be used? If the blobs were attacking, then the humans would just need to camp round the computers. If it were the other way round though, the blobs would need to hunt out the humans before the humans got to the computers, since they could just fire a shot at the computers once in range.

- Yeah you make a good point. Ok, let's go with your idea.
Do you want me to edit anything, or do you want to make the improvements yourself? You can feel free to change anything you want to as I feel it's a very poor mission as it is at the moment. Posted by

- You can make the improvements if you want. I think just adding the computers is the important thing. Changing the rest of the map isn't critical. Maybe just make some corridors wider or something? I'll edit the code and the units.
