- Made my first mistake already - I accidentally made Burke escape, just after I'd given him a grenade. :(

- Phew! Apart from that, my turn went quite well. I don't know whether to thank you for only having 2 aliens in the centre, or be worried that you've got an even more fiendish plan.

- Do you think it would be worth the trouble to make it so the APC crew cannot "escape"?

- I took a gamble trying out a different tactic. On one hand I gave you an easy start, on the other hand I still have 18 Aliens lurking around. :D

- I'm going to change it so that when a unit moves over an escape square, it comes up with a menu option that the user has to select.

- Good idea.

- I absolutely swarmed you. I think my tactic of not deploying my Aliens in the starting chamber is a bit too effective. Maybe we need to reduce the number of deployment squares so the Aliens are forced to deploy their units there.
Also the map does need some slight editing because my Aliens 3, 8 and 9 were trapped in a section of corridor between 2 doors with no cocoon walls to pass through. Posted by

- I think I made a bit of a strategic mistake in standing in the middle of the room, so you knew where all my men were. You're right though (I thought I'd added the right amount of deploy squares but obviously added too many). Or maybe just reduce the number of aliens? I can't help feeling that the first turn for the marines is a trial-by-fire, and if it doesn't go well (due to bad luck rather than any actual mistakes) the rest of the mission will be virtually impossible for them. What do you think?

- Yes I think you did. I was half expecting that 1 or 2 of your units had sneaked away, leaving the majority to stand and fight as a distraction.
I'm not entirely sure how to change things for the best. I feel we're very close to making a great mission, but these small decisions of balancing are crucial.
Regarding your comments about the 1st turn, I sort of like this part. It's exactly what happened in the movie - the Marines had a terrible start. What the Marines do have the option of (unlike in the movie) is playing safe by throwing lots of grenades to ensure they kill all of the aliens on the 1st turn. (alternative to putting them all in a bag and setting fire to the guy carrying them, lol). Or they can gamble, save their grenades for later and try their luck shooting. Posted by

- I'm sorry to butt in, but being a huge fan of the movie, your comment about the ammo bag just made me laugh lots :-D

- Do you want me to edit the map? I don't mind.

- Sorry I forgot about this. Yeah go for it if you like. I think sometimes a map can benefit from a 2nd person having an input. :)
