- It's been a little while since we played. Is this your first Campaign match?

- Yes it is. Thought I'd dip my toe into the waters... I think I might have preferred a different fish waiting for me.
- The odd thing about the Campaign is the better you are doing, the more you have to lose. Players with powerful high ranking units are more likely to concede to live to fight another day. I'm worried too because I know you are a good player, and with a team of Recruits you have nothing to lose.

- I play the non-campaign games as if I know my recruits' families, even though it might not look that way!
(Deployment may be a couple of days away, don't get too excited just yet)
- A couple of days you say? ;) Come on this is longest I've ever managed to resist using that FORCE CANCEL button. It's sooo tempting...

- I don't want to tell tales, but pickupsticks logged into the website 4 days ago... :)

- Terribly sorry, have been on a couple of weeks of very unpleasant shifts - all the more unpleasant because when I get free time in the oncall room the computers aren't allowed to run the SF client! When I got the chance to play at home I went with my active games rather than this deployment... I've got a whole day and a half off work now though, so normal service will be resumed.
- No worries, better late than never. My job has the same kind of shifts where I have periods of being very busy and then periods of having lots of time off. I also can visit the website at work, but not run the client.
It's an all action start anyway! :) Posted by

- So much for sneaking in quietly...
- I wouldn't be too concerned about the sounds of my guys screaming if I were you...

- Ah, there you are. Hello :)
- "If the grenade won't come to Baltus then Baltus must go to the grenade"
...or something like that. Sneaky of you to duck out of the room and into that corridor.
- That's a shame, I was just beginning to like Mr. Baltus. :)

- Really? I found him rather rude.
- Ha ha, well I guess you dealt with his rudeness. :)

- Feel free to let me have some more :)
They're all still under warranty.
- Kamikaze bomber??
This is going to be a close one! Posted by

- My guys should've spent more time on the throwing-range before starting this mission, by the looks of it. Is the unit count truthful, by the way, or does it only update when you confirm a kill visually?
- My guys should've brought gas masks too.
:/
- For a team of rookies they're not doing a bad job!
The unit count is always acurate. Posted by

- I'll have to ask Steve to get rid of the unit count :p
Oh, and apparently stopping to use a medikit in the middle of a cloud of nerve gas is not a good idea. I'll remember that for next time.
- The unit count is hidden in the SNAFU missions, so I guess it would be easy enough for him to do the same for other games in advanced mode. No one has ever mentioned it before.
The medikit thing, well that figures, lol :P Posted by

- Ah, nuts - not sure how, but Hagi managed to run right past the NG grenade without picking it up. Looks like my goose is cooked!
- Actually, the medikit thing might have worked out OK. Using it dealt me 25 damage and I was sure he was a goner.... but he had almost full health again at the start of the next turn. I might have to do some experimentation with this on the training range.
- Good game, well played :) Looking forward to watching the replay and seeing where you had your people stationed.
- Yeah that was a great game! Sorry you had no survivors to take mission experience into your next game.
You'll kick yourself when you see how open most of the computers were. I'm looking forward to seeing what you were up to sneaking around too. :) Posted by

- No survivors means I won't have to change my squad name, I guess.
I was hoping to tempt your #6 out to take a shot at my guy as he ran past up the top... guess he didn't fancy it!
Turn limit ended up being tighter than I thought it would be in the end. Right down to the wire in more ways than one. If only I'd brought a couple of extra grenades! Haha.
My condolences on your losses.
- I think my number 6 was bloody lucky. I timed his escape perfectly. I really didn't want to lose him as he was my only surviver above the rank of recruit. He got 2 kills and a mission win so promotes to Sergeant which goes some way to replacing my other Sergeant and a Captain who you killed. Easy come easy go I suppose, such is war. :)

- Getting rid of the unit count would stop me looking so foolish when I blow myself up ;)
Also it would add to the tension, of course. Not knowing whether the grenade you threw round the corner cleared the room, or whether there's someone inside waiting to shoot you in the face when you go in to check: fun fun fun.
- You make a good point. You should mention it to Steve. :)

- Totally agree with removing it. Maybe it's possible to add it only when a corpse is seen... if not, doesn't matter. The game will be better without it.
Or perhaps allow the unit count on practice (maybe standard) but not on advanced.
Just a few suggestions. Posted by
