- I think the armour's a write off, though - I wonder if I've still got the receipt for it?
- If at first you don't succeed...

- Ha, sorry - work and study getting on top of me this week (so H&S hasn't been getting any love either for quite a few days) but I've got some rest days on the rota starting from eight o'clock Monday morning. More turns are coming...
- No problem man. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. :)

- Think it's time to abort the mission. We'll get him next time.
- Early on you had me very worried. Did you notice you heavily wounded my unit Bagwa again, but somehow again he managed to escape from you by the skin of his teeth. Great game. :)

- It was a fun one (apart from where I shot my own guy in the face)
Well played :)
Op-fire isn't quite as pokey as I thought it was, maybe having three lasriflemen watching the perimeter to stop you sneaking out wasn't such a good idea. I'll try something else next time.
Also, woo! One of my guys made it home!
- That sort of tactic is purely down to luck. On another day your opp fire might have picked off everyone who poked their head outside. Also your guys are Recruits, so there shooting accuracy is pretty poor at the moment.
Yeah now you have a fully experienced Private. Shame for you that he didn't get any kill I don't think. Posted by

- OK OK, you don't have to crow :p
He's a pacifist, anyway.

- I've had a look into why Deadlime's #6 didn't get the campaign credits for killing Pickupsticks #8, but I can't recreate it. I don't know if pickupsticks can shed any light; I though maybe that the #8 might have picked up the grenade just before it went off (meaning it would count as killing themnelves), but that doesn't seem to have been the case. Anyway, I'll add the points tonight. :)

- So it wasn't just because my #6 couldn't see him? Strange... I'll try to be vigilant to see if it ever happens again. Thanks anyway. :)

- No funny business from my end... I notice from the event log it doesn't say "#8 has been caught in an explosion by #6 and wounded XX"
Might it be something to do with the fact that #5 primed the grenade and handed it off to #6?
- Would my #4 have been credited a kill on #7 (if he'd lived) ?
That's another one where the log entry doesn't read "caught in an explosion by"
- Good question. If there was a problem registering this kill also then it definitely dispells my theory that it was something to do with not seeing the unit, as it looks like your #4 could clearly see my #7.

- Explosion was about event 455ish... and my #4 was facing away when it went off, looking at the direction indicator on the animated replay. I don't think I had any eyes on at all for that, actually. So the theory could still be sound.
- Your unit wasn't looking at mine when the explosion went off, but surely you had seen my unit on that turn?
In my instance I hadn't seen your unit at all on that turn, I just threw the grenade and hoped your unit was there. Posted by

- Ah, right - yes. That's correct.
You'd seen my unit on a previous turn though.
It might be worth run a test mission and set up some blind and semi-blind kills, to see what happens.
- Damn I've just realised pickupsticks had this one figured out all along! My unit#5 (McBain) was awarded the kill instead of unit#6 (Vermelho).
Like you said, it must have been because McBain was the one who primed the grenade and then threw it to Vermelho, who then threw it towards your unit. I forgot all about this part, and hadn't really taken notice of McBain's kills.
Now it all makes sense. I remember now originally there was an issue with kills being awarded to the unit who primes the grenade rather than the last unit to touch it. I thought you'd changed it, and I assume so do you, Steve? Then again, at least the way it is now ensures at least the right "side" is awarded the kill in the event an enemy picking up a primed grenade. Posted by

- Just to add to this:
If this is indeed the case, then there could be the issue of the opposing side picking up the primed grenade and then turning it on the original side that primed it. I assume no kills would be awarded to either side in this situation.
Unlikely to happen.... but possible I'd say Posted by

- Good point. I wonder if Steve can tweak it so that the last "enemy" unit to touch the grenade is awarded the kill, regardless of who primed it?

- I think that would be the ideal solution, if it's possible.

- Glad we've got to the bottom of this. I'm 90% sure that it was originally the last unit to touch a grenade that was credited with the kill, but I think we changed that to be the unit that primed it, probably because otherwise it would count as killing themselves if they picked it up.
I think the way it is is probably the best, or least worst solution; there are so many circumstances to cater for. Regarding Retro's comment, in that case the unit that primed it would have "killed themselves", and the player would have "collateral kills" marked against them. Posted by

- Ah that's not so bad then, all is well :-)

- Yeah you're probably right Steve, the primer gets the kills is probably the least worst situation from what could get quite complicated. We just need to try to remember how it works ,lol.
Maybe it would be worth putting a little note about this in the manual, in the text about grenades? Posted by
