Game 2465: Jezq, Nodrog in 'Escort'

Another few autocannons I see? Stop cheating please or I stop giving you a game, takes all the fun out of it.

I am not cheating ffs. I had one autocannon, I did autoshots so I could shoot through to where I thought you might be, check the log before accusing me. I was lucky but I am not cheating, I didn't have multiple weapons in this game either!

Nodrog, I think it is highly unfair to accuse Jezq of cheating. It's a serious accusation, and it's not even possible for anyone to deliberately cheat. Due to the "duplicate equipment" bug some players have accidentally gained an advantage in some games (exacerbated by the relative cheapness of the autocannon) but this is not due to any action of theirs and hardly constitutes cheating. In addition, currently only Jezq knows for a fact if this is even the case in this game.

But Steve, the game is finished, can't you see from my inventory and the game log that I had one autocannon and fired it 4 times in one turn?

Sorry mate, no offence meant! Cheating is a strong word and I should have checked the game log first. There have been other games though where you've had more than one autocannon, so perhaps I should have said 'unsporting', especially on the back of our conversation where we were discussing the android bug and you said you weren't going to abuse the facility (and I suggested just using your browser to equip until Steve fixed the glitch, as I've been doing). Problem solved now Steve's done the fix! I agree with you're suggestion on the other thread as well, re dropping the power a bit, as in x-com. In saying that the price hike Steve's introduced does make it a more difficult to tool up rest of your squad, so that might be all the 'weighting' the autocannon needs.

I would appreciate a retraction in the egg collector thread as well, someone asking that I be banned for cheating isn't very nice... Where I have had 2 autocannons I have bought them, even calling me unsportsmanlike is out of order. I never abused the bug as far as I know and I had no choice but to equip on android.

We had an exterminator game the other day (the one I won after the turns expired) and you were using 2 autocannons, and the rest of your squad was fully tooled up. The game log only shows the weapons held at the end of the game and in that instance if doesn't show you as holding any cannons, so the logs obviously aren't too conclusive. You still had other guns and several nerve grenades in your possession so I hope you can appreciate how it looks like you've been using the bug to gain an advantage; I haven't (and can't) do the maths on all the equipment you used but I imagine 2 autocannons and ammo... And a fully equipped rest of the squad adds up to more than the mission budget. Water under the bridge now the bug has been fixed and I'll happily retract any accusation if I'm wrong, but unless I've misread the game logs they're fairly useless in the context of this discussion. No hard feelings either way though, you're an excellent player and would love to see you fighting our corner on the campaign mode.

As I said in the egg collector thread, I was a bit uncertain about an ammo pack but apart from that I wasn't using duplicates, I bought 2 autocannons for that game. Anyway, that is a bit different to what you said in the egg collector thread where you say I have won several games by cheating, please correct that. Thanks, I can't do campaign on my phone.

Re the campaign, I've asked Steve to look into an issue with the browser as we can now play the campaign missions on our androids... But the browser is zipping the 'my pages' link that lets you set up your campaign squad. I'll send you a direct message on the autocannon issue.

I looked at the exterminator game, 2 mid-range guns and 3 nerve gas grenades between them, and I don't think I used nerve gas in the game. oh and no armour. When I buy 2 autocannons I usually have guys with just a knife or a gas grenade, hoping they can scavenge something better. Anyway, taking this public, and stating absolute falsehoods in public, is well out of order, sorry.

I've sent you a message on the 2vs 2 lab attack game about the autocannons. Re the campaigns, I've just equipped on my android e a campaign so it looks like Steve's fixed that... I used the browser on my phone though so why don't you give that a try? You can choose a sector to attack via the 'galaxy map' then assuming an enemy defends, witho 7 days you'll get the chance to manage your campaign squad via your phone browser.
