Game 40437: SteveSmith, Forces of Nature, Delta 614, RABID in 'Colonization 4 - Pleasure Dome'
You are here: Stellar Forces > Your Games > Game 40437: SteveSmith, Forces of Nature, Delta 614, RABID in 'Colonization 4 - Pleasure Dome'
- This was the first game where I tried the "quickly attack and grenade the other colonies" tactic which other people have sometimes used. It's quite effective, but I don't think I'll be using it again.
- I don't like it when people use explosives. It's just mean. :-)

- Agreed. I can't eaxctly "ban" it, but I'm trying to think of something I can do to prevent it. Ban grenades on Colony missions?
- Banning grenades would make it dull unless you made a new mission with that as a condition? Or how about a new Colony mission with a larger map? Colonisation 2 map but with a bigger area and extra random buildings? Then the bases would be too far from each other for first turns explosive wipeout.

- Would love a colony game with a massive map!

- 2nd that with a big map.
I think if we did away with grenades and rocket launchers, then what would Rabid do. I think it's fun when I see Rabid on the team sheet. I always play a little different if he is right next to me.
- I actually like Rabid's expedient rocket power technique. Bigger map would not only allow for exploding players but allow time to build troops, defensive walls or move towards the enemy under cover of the extra architecture. Big battles!

- IMHO the maps are big enough. I could create a colony map that is solid walls though, and the engineers have to dig out all the space. That will mean it will be quite a few turns before players can get to each other.
- Hi Steve, I think the current maps for the Colonisation missions are totally the right size. For a different experience and an effect on strategy a larger map with Colonisation 2 set up by filled with extra structures would surely be exciting to play. The larger scale would mean more time to develop clones and make bases. We have the facility to build walls but is underused. The extra distance with more obstacles would deter rocket attacks first turn. I thought the idea exciting and we need new missions. If scaling up Colonisation 2 is a massive undertaking I understand.

- Totally agree, the current colonisation maps are perfect size! I just meant for a totally different game dynamic, a larger map would be interesting. Having a 'dig dug' type map would be cool too though! Ace idea!!

- I've just created a new mission: "Underground Colony". It's a solid map, literally. Let's see how it works.
- Great!

- I'm in. Literally. I used to live in the mining areas of West Cornwall. Now I'm going to open my own mine, which I will name Wheal Edward.
