Game 51644: xeno, Spacenaut in 'Moonbase Assault 2'

- Wow, this game as been a complete fck up from start to finish. Looks like I had the Keystone Cops.
Two units missed both their opportunity shots in the first turn and were then subsequently killed.
Now two other units have both overthrew their grenades by two spaces, something I often want but rarely get. The one was then killed the turn after by the guy he should have killed, the other will soon also be killed by the same chap, which is fine as he would have been court-martialled anyway as his overthrown grenade killed a fellow unit and set off his nerve gas grenade now enveloping another unit and blocking my way in. - LOL and I thought that nerve gas was thrown from the outside, npw that explains the red body... I noticed only the first grenade accident inside.
But yep, I thought you would do the massive opp fire flank strategy and I would be defencive sniping from smoke screen at first, with just 1 guard at center to prevent infiltration, after he got overrun I was thinking, no way, you are sending a lot of units to center, I estimated just 3-4, so I had to send some in from the edges of the map again lest I lose the computers for free. Turned out well in the end, as the opposing units had mostly grenades so not much opp fire threat.
This shows defending is easier than attacking even in Stellar Forces hehe. Posted by

- Well yeah I've had squads with grenades missing a junction in last man standing and moonbase, after that I prefer to use grenades only if there is a wall directly before so its guaranteed to stop at the right spot, or even better, stick to guns and turn 2 squares before corner with good armour.

- You had an interesting plan but undisciplined troops xD

- Yes, the plan I had never used before, making such a bold attack in the centre. Just two on each flank defensively and eight in the centre to make a concentrated offensive thrust there. But losing those two on the bottom actually made me jittery as I thought you would take advantage and push through on that flank and it would be a race to the computers. So I speeded up the central advance and threw caution to the wind. But my units weren't up to the job. And as you say, defence is king in this mission, and in most SF missions in fact.
