Game 5148: Jez, Nodrog, Jimmer 1977, Corporal Hansen in 'SNAFU: The Assassins'
You are here: Stellar Forces > Your Games > Game 5148: Jez, Nodrog, Jimmer 1977, Corporal Hansen in 'SNAFU: The Assassins'
- So, Hansen is saying Nodrog is the killer, events seem to back him up, but don't explain why Jimmer is shooting me continually, anyone wanna comment? :)

- Erm... seems I have the wrong end of the stick here. This is my first game back in a good few months so hopefully haven't ruined it!! If the opposing player gets marked as an enemy then I'm shooting straight away... am I doing something wrong? Apologies if I am... :(
- No worries! Snafu can be confusing, and the different snafu missions have different objectives, here is the stuff from the mission description page: -
This is a 4-player mission. One randomly selected side is chosen to be the undercover mercenaries, and they must kill one other randomly selected side. They will get 20 VPs for killing each unit on that side. They can kill units on any side, but will not get any VPs for those.
The other sides must try and identify who the undercover mercenaries are and kill them, for which they will get 13 VPs each for all but the last unit, for which they will get 50 VPs. They must not kill any other units or you will lose 40 VPs!
The assassins will win ONLY if they get 100 VPs. If they do not, the highest VPs out of the other sides is the winner. Posted by

- You should probably check the game details on your game list page to make sure you aren't the assassin :D

- ok I had a look - I'm not the assasin. I should have joined a more simple game as my first one in a while! Sorry.... thanks for clarification.
What does SNAFU stand for?
- No worries, you only killed one of my guys, and if you are telling the truth it means I have more vps than you ;)
Snafu means something like 'situation normal, all fucked up' I think. Posted by

- I've been blasting away at someone else as well, so I've been dishing out VP's all over the shop!! :)
ah k ta.
- Well, reducing your own VPS... Tbh it often happens when I play this mission, and the two players who immediately spring to mind were both experienced and using heavy weaponry so most people were dead before you could say anything :D

- ha... glad it's not just me making this mistake then! I'll be sure to read the details before deploying next time! :)
- Shouldn't I have won that on points according to the mission description?

- The mission description says "If the number of turns expires, the game is a draw.". However, I'm not sure that this should be the case and I'll change it to "If the number of turns expires, the side with the most VPs wins.". Unless anybody disagrees? I haven't played a SNAFU mission for a while so I don't know how common draws are.

- It's further down, in the bullet points. The bit you quote is correct, but only if the turns don't expire.

- I can't see that mission description text?! What i read was 'The assassins will win ONLY if they get 100 VPs. If they do not, the highest VPs out of the other sides is the winner.'

- Kind of contradictory...

- Yeah, I can't see why it should be a draw if the turns expire; that's why I'm going to change it to "highest VPs win".

- Thinking about it, it was probably to prevent the assassin killing one unit and then hiding for the rest of the game.

- I thought that, but if you keep the 'assassin only wins if kills all targets ' bit then there is no problem.
