We haven't had one this year so far, usually starts early in the year so about 18 months since last one began. We seem to have a good number of active members at the moment. Two months limit like last time.
I'm up for it. An absolute 2 month limit, with end date. Winner with the most corners on that date win. If 2 sides or more have equal corners, the side with the most sectors wins. A side with no or not enough corners doesn't win even if they have the most sectors. Corners take priority, sectors sort out corner draw. Sorry that got long winded but hope its clear enough.
Could we try: on the beginning everybody get some numbers of units (number of players in faction x number of units = const.) Then dead units will not be replaced. And missions will be very fast (no moonbase, laboratory, new house...).
Not sure I like that. Could end up running out of units and the campaign still far from finished. For me eplacements are a fundamental part of the campaign, they are green recruits that you receive to bolster your team of gradually diminishing veterans. Sometimes you have to throw them in the deep end or you use them as cannon fodder.
On a different note; Steve - would it be easy to knock together a page showing the top 10 soldiers from all participants - just showing their kills or points? (yes, it's kind of sad, but I'd find it cool!).

I'll have a look. As a top Patreon, it's the least I can do. :) Actually, I think there used to be something like that before.
If there's no volunteers to move from Marsec, we'll have to try something else: how about all the members msg me a number, and the 3 players with the lowest unique numbers get to stay?
I remember now, we had this last time. Somebody joined late and made a faction top heavy despite their being a faction with just one member in! That almost stopped the campaign before it started. Has to be some rule implemented about joining a faction that already has 3 people.
Let's try with 2 factions: banana republic 1 and 2. Only fast mission.. P.s. does anybody think that inc. granades and nerve gas are pretty disbalanced. I think nerve gas should make more damage, and fire less. Maybe fire on unit need to last less 2 or 3 turns. Or not to catch fire by passing by, or damage depends of range...am I boring??
@xeno, that sounds fair enough, but I've just checked and all factions have 3/4 players in them. So I'll start the campaign soon unless anyone has any final objections?
@Evildick, I think fire should cause more damage myself, a person can stay alive for several turns even though they are engulfed. For me nerve gas is about right seeing it's a cheap price.
The campaign league tables are now populated (primarily thanks to me being massacred by Spacenaught). They're under the My Games menu, although I may move it to another one. Also here: http://www.stellarforces.com/dsr/campaignleague.cls
Why in mission descriptions, it says it may be possible to deploy 100s of units in some maps, but when deploying in campaign it seems to be always limited to 10?
Sorry for being a mobile bore, but I thought I'd mention the colour scheme and format has changed in the last day or so. It's quite a blue colour scheme now it seems!

I think it may have been a week when I first started?! At least 5 days. I know I and some others, certainly Pete also, asked for it come down to 3. I think that is the right balance myself. One day would be too quick.
Its been 2 months, as of today Marsec is a clear winner. Rosti royally beat me in the last 17 consecutive games!!!! Although 2 corners are currently under attack so it could all change in days. Can we have a decisive end date?
I say we take the win and plan the next Campaign asap. Reason for end date is to avoid the slog and grind of past Campaigns. And I think we have achieved that.
I think it would be useful next campaign to have a notice up in the forum saying the campaign has 2 weeks left to go. Then everyone can get really fired up and focused for the final days of the campaign. I must admit I did lose sense of how long this campaign had been running.
Thanks Steve and Grim. Enjoyed this campaign more than any other. Maybe because we won, but have won previously. So not sure. The rules are now almost perfect so that probably has a lot to do with it
Yep I liked the mission mix and the random new mission offered up in each sector when a gane is over. Keeps it fresh. 3 days also feels right. I reckon we can start the next Campaign soon.
Yes I think the rules are close to perfect now: the 3 days, a new random mission after a sector is taken, not being able to attack a sector directly after you lose it, so you don't get the repetitive battles with the same person over the same sector and same mission. And the time limit for the campaign overall. If my memory serves me correctly, didn't a campaign about 3 years ago go on for 5 months!
Start a the next one in the new year perhaps? Maybe also a lab 2v2 contest like I suggested years back and we played the one year. It was a knockout competition, home and away so to speak, with a semi final and final.
If we do the Campaign in the New Year, Lab attack 2 V 2 player contest could fill the gap nicely between now and then or whenever Steve can set it up? Is everyone up for a 2 V 2 Lab Attack knock out contest?
Yes Steve. You used the 'Challonge' set up. I think each team had to play their opponents until they got a decisive 2 wins. Then you went on to the next qualifying ream until eventually as Xeno said, semi finals then the final.
Pete and I (the gruesome twosome) challenge every Stellar Force duo to a Lab 2v2 contest. We need 16 members. If not then 8, winners go straight through to the final. Pick a team mate, or go into a hat. Last time back in, was it 2015 when proposed I it :) and Steve did a fantastic job of putting it on. :D Who was the winners? Remember we got to the semis but lost. Was it Jono and? Anyway grab someone, last song in the club, and see how it goes.
Sorry, I've been a bit poorly the last few days so not had chance to keep up. I'd forgotten all about Challonge! I'll set something up soon, and a new thread.
