Anyone else find death grenades not even wounding an enemy unit with no or light armour? Maybe just a rare couple of occurences but haven't seen it happen for years. Always get at least a wounding to little or no armour. Must be extremely low "dice rolls" in old skool terms.
I think on the odd occasion that I use death grenades, I always combine them with holding nerve gas or a "proper" grenade. I've got no problem with increasing the harm done by Death Grenades, as I think it's rare that the initial explosion is within range of another unit anyway (with the exception of CC-only missions).
Just looked at the explosive damage of a death grenade and very surprised to see it is only 50. I assumed it was the same as an AP50 and 80 damage. In fact it is just 10 more than an AP25!
Not sure I saw that previously and just forgot or never noticed.
Well see what others think of course Steve but personally I would raise it a bit but 90 might be excessive. Trouble is the cost would have to go up if it is raised too high. Just I didn't realise it was that low and that explains why even units with no or little armour aren't sometimes being wounded nevermind killed.
I agree with Xeno to level a bit the Death Grenades, also thought they were natively more powerful. But maybe put them on the level 40-45? Just below an Ap50 already is a fun upgrade
@Steve, returning to this topic, I'm trying to understand what types of "other" grenades carried by a soldier, are triggered, after his death grenade explodes. Apparently some are effected by an explosion, while others stay unaltered.
There's a 50% chance that any type of grenade that is caught in an explosion, will also explode. Except for Incendiary grenades, which I've just noticed aren't covered.
Anhhh ok! I definitely noticied that nerve grenades always explode.. incendiary never do, and the "regular" just sometimes. Would be logical that they all explode when affected by a death grenade being carried by the soldier? I don't know if makes sense or other players agree.
I've just discovered that in the Android , the incendiary grenades *do* have a 50% chance of exploding just like other grenade types. For some reason I missed them out in the PC client. (Does anyone use the PC client?)
I see! Thanks Steve. Think I was just unlucky in the moments I had and got explosions more rarely. I don't know why I had an idea they exploded 100% of times at least if caught in the ground zero of the explosion, like for example the death grenade.
