I'm trying to think of a good 3/4 player mission design, where two players on each side work together. Can anyone think of any good ideas?

Steve, I actually think that a lot of the existing missions might work quite well in a co-operative style. I'll try to come up with some new ideas though when I get more free time.
Just to expand on what I said earlier. Some missions would be very easy to convert into a version where 2 or more teams can work together. eg.
3 player co-op - Assassins - 2 teams of assassins co-operating instead of competing to kill Sterner Regnix.
Moonbase Assault could be 3 or 4 players co-operating with the doubling up going on for either attackers or defenders or both.
4 player co-op - Last Man Standing - 2 teams against 2 teams.
3 player co-op - Escort 2 - 2 teams helping each other to Assassinate Sterner Regnix.
Alien Hordes - like Moonbase Assault could be 3 or 4 players co-operating.
Rescue From the Mines - could work as either 3 or 4 players. It might need a bit of work to even out the number of units but could potentially be very good.
Laboratory Attack - again could be 3 or 4 players (preferably with the no. of scientists modified to either 2 or 4.)
Battle For Sigma 7 - would be a good 4-player mission with 2 teams co-operating.
Meltdown - like Moonbase Assault.
Alien Escape - same again.
The Exterminators - like Assassins.
Capture the Flag - 4 players - 2 teams co-operating.
Thanks for the ideas. Do you think two players co-operating will be able to see each others units on the map? And should there be some kind of penalisation if they shoot each other's units? And will they share VPs?

Yeah I definitely think they should be able to see each other on the map at all times. It will make them 'feel' more like they are on the same team, help them to co-ordinate their attacks and make it less likely that they might accidentally blow each other up.
Yes, victory points should be shared also to encourage team play and discourage 'friendly fire'. That way if you kill one of your team mates co-operating units then you are gifting the opposition victory points.
