Game 17447: Jez, zap, Player Heathcliff43, Hokunda in 'SNAFU: The Assassins'
You are here: Stellar Forces > Your Games > Game 17447: Jez, zap, Player Heathcliff43, Hokunda in 'SNAFU: The Assassins'
- Looks like Hokunda might be the killer boys! (Based on hearing a gunshot, walking into a room full of Hokunda's guys, seeing Heathcliff's body and being shot at by one of Hokunda's men with opp fire turned on, seems like damning evidence...)

- True but it's your units that are scurrying around suspiciously Jez!

- Jez (Laser Squad) Opp Fire NO
Are you sure about opp. fire?
Anyway I have conceded the game, so if the game does not end, ask Steve to cancel it. Posted by

- Eh? Do you mean you didn't mean to shoot at me? I had already decided you were the killer and killed one of your guys before your opp fire happened so it actually helped you. But I don't really understand what you're saying. And it's only a friendly... Told ya Zap ;)

- Looking at the game log, if you mean you didn't set opp fire for other teams (none, or just not teams that aren't your target Heathcliff?) the computer seems to have decided you need it after I killed your guy. This is obviously no good for the assassin who wants to bluff it out (I had no proof you were the assassin, the opp fire convinced me). Steve, can you shed any light on this?

- I think you are right. I set opp. fire against zap and Hethcliff43 but not against you. I think the computer thought self defense is necessary. :)

- That shouldn't happen though, or should it? Wouldn't it be better to have a 3rd 'switch to opp fire if attacked' option? If you hadn't shot me I would have wondered if I'd made a mistake, especially with Zap's comment, I may have suspected him :)

- I've had a look at the log. It doesn't look like anyone turned off their opp fire, only turned it on (although without starting a SNAFU mission, I can't remember if it starts by default as on or off). Also, could a unit have been shooting at another side but missed and hit a friendly unit? (These SNAFU post-game discussions are almost as complicated as the game itself :) ).
- It starts by default as NO. I had to turn it on to perform an attack. Otherwise close combat was not allowed.

- Yeah, default is off, and Hokunda didn't shoot me by accident. I went into the room and killed his guy holding a rocket launcher (bottom left corner). I don't know if that guy could have opp fired at other teams. Then I walked onto the body and the top left corner guy shot and wounded me. He was the only guy who opp fired. My other unit entered from the top door entered and killed him. I shot at the guy in the top right corner but missed. Top right guy didn't opp fire, but I guess he's the one who killed Heathcliff :)
