I've already suggested a few dynamic ideas to Steve myself. Rather than a 1 off 'epic' mission, instead a 'campaign' style series of missions which follow on from each other. Earn credits by completing missions. Retain soldiers and equipment between missions. Hire more units with the credits you earn. Build your 'squad' mission by mission to take on tougher, better paying mission etc and more co-operative missions too where you work together with other players to complete missions and share the spoils.
I really don't think there is any shortage of great ideas! The problem is the work load our demands put on poor Steve. I hear Sterner Regnix's Labs produce drugs which prevent the need for sleep.. lol :)
Just sent you another email about this. I was going to post it here but it's turning into War & Peace!

Ha ha, yeah. I'll have to give this a bit more thought. My original idea was based on the assumption of using AI as enemy and human players always co-operating. I'm sure it's still very possible to do it all without - but I'll have to rethink it thorough. Like you said it your email it would be very easy to allow very active players to become super powerful. I'm confident we can come up without something practical to prevent this though. I'll get back to you soon.
Maybe another idea, similar to what I put in my email, is some kind of auction system, where other players offer to play against the player by putting in a "bid", which is how many extra credits they want for their side. The lowest bid wins. This would prevent a powerful player from being unstoppable since no player would offer to play against them unless they had bid enough credits to make it worthwhile.
Having said all that, am I straying too far from the original idea though?

Like I said, my whole idea was based on the idea of introducing an AI. I've just completely reworked the idea and sent it to you via email. It could/should still work very well but needs to be implemented a little differently now I think. Let me know what you think. :)
